READING TOGETHER

This is our second year of running the 'Reading Together' programme here at Flat Bush School. There are four workshops altogether. The first three will be held once a week and the fourth workshop will continue three weeks after the third workshop.

What is Reading Together?
Reading Together are workshops that are focused on how parents/guardians could help and support their child/ren at home, specifically in Reading. The workshops will demonstrate techniques such as setting aside a regular time for reading (free from other distractions), discussing the story, not correcting every mistake that your child makes during reading and much more.

Why 'Reading Together'?
Many parents have asked about how can they best support their child's reading at home. Reading Together is a fantastic programme for parents to gain the skills to help and support their child's reading at home. Reading Together works.

Note:
There is no charge to participate in the Reading Together programme but we encourage that you commit and attend to all four workshops.

How can I be part of the Reading Together programme?
Anyone is welcome to participate in the Reading Together programme. You may choose to come alone but, we encourage (if possible) that you come with a support person or both parents/guardians to attend these workshops together so that the information and skills learnt are reinforced and supported at home collectively.

Workshops are held in small groups. 10 adults at a time. We also have services to help look after young children while you attend these workshops. If you are keen to participate in the Reading Together programme, please show your interest by seeing my at my office which is located between the front gate entrance and the sandpit. It will be on a ‘first in, first served’ basis.
