Poster creations

Create your own Poster about Parihaka. Draw the leaders, or the Maunga, or the peaceful protesters. Add a phrase to your poster.

Feelings

Can you imagine how  much land was taken and how all those poor people felt when  they were told to leave their homes/ lands or be put in jail.  Imagine your  favourite toy/person being taken away from you. How would you feel? What would you do?

I loved how the people of Parihaka stayed peaceful throughout the invasion. Do you know what peaceful is? look at the picture below and pick one idea of how you can try being peaceful at home.
Think of another idea of how we could make NZ or the world more peaceful?

Botanic Trip Transport IssuesBus Sekolah, Bus, Mobil,

Flatbush went on a trip to the Botanic Garden for Maori Language Week.  The school hired a bus to transport the children, plus the school van which Whaea Julie drove.

65 students travelled to the Botanic gardens.   of the children travelled with Whaea Julie in the van.  How many students went with Whaea Julie?  How many students travelled in the bus?

65 ÷ 5 = 13 (the amount of students travelled with Whaea Julie)

13 x 1 = 13

65 - 13 = 52 (the amount of students travelled in the bus)

108 students travelled to the Botanic gardens.  / of the children travelled with Whaea Julie in the van.  How many students went with Whaea Julie?  How many students travelled in the bus?

108 ÷ 9 = 12

12 x 4 = 48 (the amount of students travelled in the van)

108 - 48 = 60 (the amount of students travelled in the bus)

288 students travelled to the Botanic gardens.  /₁₂ of the children travelled with Whaea Julie in the van.  Who many students went with Whaea Julie?  How many students travelled in the bus?

288 ÷ 12 = 24

24 x 4 = 96 (the amount of students travelled in the van)

288 - 96 =  192 (the amount of students travelled in the bus)

          Friendship

I woke up early, and felt excited to join the google meet. So I went and ate breakfast before google meet started, and then I took my chrome book to sign in to join the google meet. I joined and Miss Aneru was already in, “Everyone turned your cameras on so that  I'm talking to your faces please” Ms Aneru said.

                      FRIENDSHIP

A time where I helped someone in a positive way was at school. I helped a little girl feel happy, loved and safe at school. She was so sad I heard her crying in class. So I hugged her and went for a walk until she stopped crying The next week I went back and she made new friends. I felt so happy she wasn't sad

WEEK 3 of term 4 - day two

                 Chris Mapusua  Friendship

A time where I helped someone in a positive way was at school, where I took part in an activity called “buddy reading”. For this activity, I read a book with a student named Tevita. This was the first time we met and when he talked to me I could barely hear his voice. He felt shy and uncomfortable reading in front of me at first but with my encouragement and help, he started to feel more comfortable. As he read through the book, he struggled to pronounce some words so I helped him pronounce them. After helping him, his reading got better and I saw that he was no longer struggling to pronounce the words. His voice was also a little louder than before and I didn’t see any more fear in his eyes. After he read the book, I gave him a high-five to show him how proud I was of his improvement.
