Kia ora Whānau, this week we have been focusing on our play that we will be performing for Māori Language Week. We have started to make our props/costumes and have began to learn and memorize our scripts.
Today we were very lucky because Ms Young took us down to the bottom of our school field to teach us about the harakeke. In our play Maui and his 4 brothers use the flax to make ropes, so it was a great learning opportunity for Room 12 to learn about the harakeke and how to cut it correctly. We all said a karakia together and ensured to treat the harakeke with whakaute.

 | Kia Ora Room 12 Whanau, Happy New Year! My name is Cissy Zhao. It is a great pleasure to teach in Room 12 this year. In 2023, Miss Shoemark and I will be team teaching in room 12. I will be doing Reading Recovery in the morning from 8:55 to 11:45. From 11:45 to 3:00, I will be teaching in Room 12 in class. During 2023 I will have the privilege of working alongside Cissy Zhao and all of the learners within Room 12.
