Pō marie FBS whānau,
Today after school we were informed that a learner from Rm 9 had tested positive for COVID-19. This learner has a sibling in Room 23 and tomorrow both Room 9 and Room 23 will be closed.
In this instance our learners and staff are deemed to be Close Contacts and have been asked to isolate immediately and get a COVID-19 test as soon as possible.
Upon returning a negative test, they will be able to return to school, we have also asked that siblings of learners in Rooms 9 and 23 stay at home.
We have been working with the Ministries of Health and Education to ensure we are following the appropriate guidelines.
Our school remains open for all of our learners and we continue to have our rigorous health and safety practices in place.
At this time our thoughts are with our learner and their whānau who we wish well for a speedy recovery.
Thank you to all of our FBS whānau for your ongoing support of our school. The health and well being of our children, staff and FBS community is our number one priority.
We are all working together in our defence against COVID-19 and we appreciate everything our FBS whānau does for our school.
Ngā mihi mahana,
Mr Avatea
Proud to be your Principal
