Kia ora FBS whānau,
New Zealand Shake Out is our national earthquake drill. It took place on Thursday 27 October 2022 at 9:30am. Shake Out takes place across the world to remind people of the right action to take during an earthquake which is to Drop, Cover and Hold.
At Flat Bush School we had our Diwali Craft Day on that day, so on Monday 31 October we will be doing our Shake Out Drill at 10.10am.
We will ring a long continuous bell (like the fire alarm) for about 30 seconds. In that time our classes follow the Shake Out procedure of stop cover and hold for Earthquakes. Then we will ring 3 short bells which is the signal for our classes to assemble under our COLA and our drill will be completed.
If you have any questions please feel free to contact our school office.
